Description

Tonsileen Capsule The term tonsillitis refers to inflammation of the tonsils. The tonsils are two oval-shaped glands that sit at the back of the throat. Their role is to fight off bacteria and viruses that enter the body through the nose and mouth.

Most cases of tonsillitis occur due to a viral infection. Bacterial infections are responsible for about 15–30% of cases.

Tonsillitis can affect anyone, but it is more common in children. According to the American Academy of Otolaryngology, almost all children in the United States will experience at least one episode of tonsillitis.

Tonsils and the adenoid are both lymphoid tissue, meaning that they are similar to lymph node tissues.  Tonsils are located at the back of the throat while the adenoid sits on the posterior wall of the throat, behind the nose, and above the palate.

Both are strategically positioned at the entrance of the airway, where they can react to invading infectious agents.  Incoming viruses and bacteria come upon the tonsils and adenoids right away, which allows the immune system to launch its defense quickly and produce antibodies.

Because they are so often exposed to germs, tonsils and adenoids do get infected, especially in children.

Tonsillitis – an infection of the tonsils – can be very painful, particularly when swallowing.  When it occurs, glands in the throat are usually swollen as well.  Such an infection can develop when the immune system is not as effective as it should be.

On the other hand, chronic tonsillitis weakens the immune system, making us more susceptible to infection.  When the adenoid gets infected, it swells, becomes painful, and can obstruct the upper airways causing congestion and snoring.

The weather in our area is now changing to dry and cold. People get the flu in the wintertime because the influenza virus replicates and spreads most effectively in this weather. My son was also effected due to a change in weather, one of my friends told me to do a home remedy instead of running to the doctor. She was the one who introduced me to this herb QUST. Everyone can use it to get rid of colds and flu.
The plant of Qust is also known as Costus. It is generally found in a marshy and wet places along the rivers at the eights up to 5000 ft.
These plants bears big serrated leaves but the roots are used for medical purpose. After collecting roots in the month of September and November, these are then cut into small pieces. This is a fragrant herb used as nutritive tonic.

his Herb is known as HERB OF PROPHET(P.B.U.H)

  • Hazrat Zaid Bin Arqam narrates- ” We were directed by Rasool Allah (saw) to treat pleurisy with Qust Bahri and Roghan-e-Zaitoon” (Tirmizi, Sanad-e-Ahmed, Ibn Maja)
  • Hazrat Anas Bin Malik narrates that Rasool Allah (saw) stated ” Out of those things which are being used by you for treatment, the cupping and Qust Bahri are the best treatment.”
Hazrat Jabir Bin Abdullah narrates that Rasool Allah (saw) stated “Don’t burn the glottis of your children, when you are having waras and quest-e-Hindi, make them lick these.”
  • “When Nabi-e-Akram (saw) entered the house of Hazrat Aisha (R), she was having a child bleeding through mouth and nose. Prophet (saw) asked, what was that? She answered, “the child has Azraa. Prophet (saw) said, “Alas ! ladies, that you used to kill your children like that. If in future any child got affected with Azra in his glottis or he felt headache, then ground the Qust-e-Hindi/ Shiren and make him lick it. Therefore, Hazrat Aisha carried out his instructions and the child became healthy.” (Muslim)

Mulberries are colorful berries that are eaten both fresh and dried. They’re a good source of iron, vitamin C, and several plant compounds and have been linked to lower cholesterol, blood sugar, and cancer risk

Fenugreek seeds are also useful to cure tonsillitis, pneumonia and other types of infection. Like many of the other homemade tonsillitis remedies discussed here, fenugreek seeds need to be mixed with water to make a liquid to gargle. Boil the seeds in water, and allow it to cool to a comfortable temperature before gargling

garden cress seeds (Lepidium sativum Linn.). Lepidium sativum seed extracts are used as an antirheumatic, diuretic, and febrifuge; in abdominal discomfort; in fracture healing; and in the treatment of gout. These medicinal uses of LSS are practiced routinely in Ayurveda. These seeds have been implicated in the treatment and management of a plethora of diseases such as asthma, pain, inflammation, nociception, blood coagulation, oxidative stress, anuresis, and related disorders.

The presence of various important phytochemical constituents in LSS (namely, alkaloids, flavonoids, cardiotonic glycosides, coumarins, glucosinolates, saponins, sterols, sinapic acid, tannins, triterpene, and uric acid) might be responsible for its ethnopharmacological, preclinical, and clinical recognition. Volatile oil obtained by steam distillation of LSS is also reported to exhibit an estrogenic effect and possesses antioxidant potential. These phytoconstituents of LSS might be responsible for its known as well as unknown pharmacological potential, which may provide novel phytoconstituents that can be evaluated for probable bioactivity. Extensive work has to be carried out for the isolation of novel bioa

Licorice is used for eczema, swelling (inflammation) of the liver (hepatitis), mouth sores, and many other conditions, but there is no good scientific evidence to support most of these uses.

Licorice is also used to flavor foods, beverages, and tobacco products.

How does it work?

The chemicals contained in licorice are thought to decrease swelling, thin mucus secretions, decrease cough, and increase the chemicals in our body that heal ulcers.

Licorice has well-documented antiviral, antibacterial and antifungal properties 2. Asian practitioners of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) described its application for a multitude of conditions, many arising from its use in TCM as a unique “guide drug.”  This “guide” effect is reportedly due to chemical transformation when interacting with other compounds, and also due to its effect on the CYP450 enzyme system in the liver 4. In nearly half of all Chinese herbal formulas, licorice was commonly combined with other herbs in a single prescription to enhance the effectiveness of the other ingredients, generally raise Qi, reduce toxicity, and to improve flavor .

Many unique classes of molecules have been identified in licorice root extract. Among them are 20 triterpenoids and almost 300 flavonoids. Triterpenoids are natural glycosides with remarkable structure and bioactive diversity. They are becoming increasingly significant in the treatment of cancer due to their effectiveness and safety 5.

The flavonoids are a group of natural substances with polyphenolic structure found in fruits, vegetables, grains, bark, roots, stems, flowers and tea leaves. These natural compounds are well-known for their beneficial effects on health attributed to their antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-mutagenic and anti-carcinogenic properties coupled with their capacity to modulate key cellular enzyme functions 6.

Eventually, all the compounds in licorice may be found to be of some medicinal service, but current research focuses on a few of these, namely glycyrrhizin (GL), glycyrrhizic acid (GA), liquiritigenin (LTG), licochalcone A (LCA), licochalcone E (LCE) and glabridin (GLD), the main active components that have been found to possess antiviral and antimicrobial activities 7. The antiviral components appear to be the triterpenoids glycyrrhizin (GL) and glycyrrhizic acid (GA).

Recent studies suggest that glycyrrhizin may inhibit hepatitis C virus (HCV) by targeting the release step in which hepatitis C viral particles infect cells 8. In fact, glycyrrhizin has been administered by intravenous injection for over 20 years to treat hepatitis C in Japan, and studies have found few side effects and marked reduction in progression toward cirrhosis and hepatocarcinoma
